Meet Jonathan

When Jonathan Colunga moved from Mexico to California at age 17, there was nothing easy about starting a new life in a new place and not speaking a word of English. But he drew strength from adversity, learning the language as well as an appreciation for the core values of respect, responsibility, resilience, and perseverance in the process.

 

With those fundamental qualities and a lot of hard work, things turned out well for Jonathan. He moved to the Bay Area to attend San José State University on a full athletic scholarship as a soccer player. True to form, Jonathan maximized the opportunity, making the dean’s list and graduating in the top third of his class with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a minor in business administration. Ultimately, he learned another valuable life lesson: Never give up on your dreams, and never settle for less. That philosophy serves Jonathan well as a licensed real estate professional. He has a special affinity for first-time buyers and the bilingual skills to effectively communicate with a wide range of clients.

 

Jonathan’s personal experience taught him the value of a stable home — literally and figuratively. Having worked with his father, a general contractor, Jonathan knows what it takes to build a structurally sound house. And with a history that bounced him from house to house, he intimately understands the representational significance of home. Motivated to advocate for each of his client’s visions of home, Jonathan will always protect their interests.

 

In his spare time, Jonathan is a professional soccer coach for the Palo Alto Soccer Club. He serves as a mentor to a range of young men, drawing from his experiences to try to inspire the next generation to achieve their goals.
